Maart: The art of meaningful giving

Reading time: 2 minutes

March is the month in which we move closer to one another.
The days grow longer, the light softer. Spring can no longer be ignored. It is the time when tables are set, doors remain open a little longer, and moments are shared again.

Giving a gift carries a different meaning during this season. Less as an obligation, more as a gesture. A way of saying: I’m thinking of you. Thank you for being here.

That is where meaningful design begins for me. Objects that do not demand attention, but quietly add something to a moment. Pieces that belong on an Easter table, beside a spring bouquet, or during a morning with coffee, children playing nearby, and sunlight falling across the table.

The Easter table is a beautiful example of this. Not as an extravagant statement, but as a coming together of light, texture, and rhythm. Linen that falls softly, glass that captures daylight, flowers that fill the air with fragrance. A table that invites you to stay a little longer.

Flowers naturally play a role in this. Not only as decoration, but as carriers of feeling. They mark moments, seasons, and intentions. Sometimes for someone else, sometimes simply for yourself.

The flower dream was created from that idea. A playfully shaped vase made of transparent glass, inspired by the form of an inverted wine glass. Light, elegant, and just a little different. The design allows flowers to move freely and turns even a single stem into a small ritual. An example of how functionality and design can come together.

Meaningful giving does not require a specific occasion. It can align with Easter, with the arrival of spring, with a visit to someone you appreciate. Or with that one moment when you think: this feels like you.

This way of looking asks for calm. For choices that allow space. That is exactly where this feeling touches the Japandi style. Japandi is a fusion of Scandinavian lightness and Japanese simplicity, where functionality, natural materials, and balance take center stage.

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Japandi is not about trends, but about a way of living. About fewer stimuli and more attention. About objects that are allowed to breathe, textures that bring calm, and spaces that do not try to be everything at once. It is a style that supports.

Within Japandi, color plays a subtle yet defining role. The palette is soft and earthy, with tones that bring calm and enhance natural light. Think of warm whites, sand tones, wood hues, and soft browns.

Our color Cappuccino aligns perfectly with this. Warm, layered, and inviting. It is a tone that balances between light and depth and combines effortlessly with linen, glass, and natural materials. Cappuccino catches daylight in a gentle way and reinforces that sense of comfort that Japandi embodies.

While much of the attention in March is focused on spring, behind the scenes we are already preparing for Mother’s Day. A gift moment with many meanings, where thoughtfulness and timing come together.

Seize the moment,
